EDUCATION INSPIRED BY TRADITIONS

Our workshops are designed to transfer knowledge of our traditional and contemporary textile making techniques alongside theoretical classes where we look at methodologies from African academics applicable to textile practices.

We offer a range of online sessions, physical group or one-to-one sessions and online self paced sessions, consisting of digital designs and traditional crafts methods from a variety of disciplines

The workshops could consist of specific projects, but also generic practical and theoretical content with a focus on the continents textile knowledge.

Indigenous knowledge must play a central role in the revival of the [textile] industry in order to narrow the cultural gab, in the conceptual appreciation of textile practices and design. Its transformation can occur when Indigenous Knowledge is recognised as an aspect to take dominant position in future [textile] industry futures.
